Cecilia Ribalaygua, PhD in Urban, Regional Planning and Sustainability, is a senior lecturer at the School of Civil Engineering and the Faculty of Geography at the University of Cantabria, Spain. Her research experience focuses on the relationship between transport and urban planning as well as urban sustainability, pursuing policy implications and local strategies for city improvement. She has conducted several projects and assisted Spanish cities in the process of integrating High-Speed Rail and published widely in the field. The most recent projects focus on planning strategies related to climate change (Head Researcher of several international projects in Latin America, the most recent one founded by CAF/AFD on the Galapagos islands and Loja, Ecuador). Currently, she is coordinating the UC STAM Research Group on a National Research Project (2019-2021) on urban planning in medium-sized cities in Spain. Author of 40 science articles published in internationally recognized scientific journals and in the national most considered peer-reviewed journals edited by the Spanish Government. Ana Dragutescu, Coordinator at ICLEI European Secretariat. The EmbedterLabs project aims to develop a Living Lab approach to more effectively support transformations towards more sustainable and resilient cities, which helps to orient labs and experiments to inform broader learning processes, and to align laboratory insights with established policy mixes to enable transformation, with a focus on mobility infrastructure. As she is a Sustainable Mobility and Transport Coordinator at ICLEI, this project is of great relevance to her work. ICLEI - Local Governments for Sustainability is a global network of more than 1,750 local and regional governments committed to sustainable urban development. Active in 100+ countries, we influence sustainability policy and drive local action for low-emission, nature-based, equitable, resilient and circular development. The Members and team of experts work together through peer exchange, partnerships and capacity building to create systemic change for urban sustainability Urban sustainability transformation and mobility infrastructure are of key interest to all European urban areas. Smart mobility and Mobility-as-a-Service can help the city to cope with this important challenge.
